The nation's largest state grassroots Farm Bureau organization presented U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander with the American Farm Bureau Federation's “Friends of Farm Bureau” honor.
Tennessee Farm Bureau President Lacy Upchurch announced Alexander as one of Tennessee's recipients for the honor due to his support and continuous voting record for agriculture, rural communities and Farm Bureau policy. A ceremony was held in Kingsport on Monday.
“'Friends of Farm Bureau' are those who have demonstrated their support for agriculture through their words and actions,” said Upchurch. “Our designations are influenced by statewide grassroots input and are only given when a candidate exhibits a clear understanding and record of support for Farm Bureau policy issues.”
